Bryan Murray’s life-long involvement in hockey has included 17 seasons as an NHL head coach with the Washington Capitals, Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers, Anaheim Ducks and Ottawa Senators.

His NHL coaching stats show 1,239 games with 620 wins (putting him in the top 10 of wins for NHL coaches) with his teams making the playoffs 13 times.

Murray won the Jack Adams Award as NHL Coach of the Year in 1983-84, when the Washington Capitals registered a 48-27-5 record. In his three seasons behind the Ottawa bench, the team posted 107 wins, 55 losses and 20 overtime losses and a birth in Stanley Cup Finals in 2007.

Murray is in his 20th year as a General Manager, with sojourns in Detroit, Florida, Anaheim and Ottawa and was selected NHL Executive of the Year in 1996 when he was with Florida. He was named GM of the Ottawa Senators in 2007 and became Executive Vice-President of Senators Sports and Entertainment in 2009, a position he currently holds.
