Dr. W.F.A. ‘Fred’ Davies (deceased) served as the Ottawa Rough Riders Football team doctor starting in 1946. He was a graduate of McGill University where he captained the university golf team. He was a Captain with the Canadian Medical Corps and served overseas from 1943 to 1946.

He has been honoured many times by the Canadian Medical profession. He was an active member of the Ottawa Ski Club starting in the late 1920’s. Dr. Davies served as Interim Chairman of the Canadian Ski Museum in 1987.
