Biography

Team : Curling
Year Inducted: 2000

High-quality curling has long been synonymous with Ottawa and environs. Always high on the list is the Eldon Coombe quartet from the Ottawa Curling Club. The foursome of Skip Coombe, Third Keith Forgues, Second Jim Patrick and Lead Barry Provost dominated the Men’s competitive scene from the mid-1960’s to mid-1970’s. Indeed, they were a rarity remaining intact for an entire decade during which they claimed seven Red Anderson Memorial Trophies, seven successive OCA Division crowns, swept the Royal Caledonian Canadian Branch major events; won the Whitby Dunlop and CBC championships and became the first rink to represent the region in the 1972 St. John’s, Newfoundland Brier.
