Harold Lawton ‘Punch’ Broadbent (deceased) played amateur hockey with New Edinburgh and Cliffsides in his hometown. At age 16, he played with Ottawa in the NHA – National Hockey Association. Ottawa, Montreal Maroons, and New York Americans were NHL stops. Four Stanley Cup teams, three with Ottawa, one with Montreal. Scored one or more goals in 16 consecutive games, 1921-22 season, which is still an NHL record. Member of Hockey Hall of Fame.
