Samuel Berger (deceased) dedicated almost 50 years to Canadian football. He served as President and held other executive position with Ottawa Football Club early 1930’s to 1969. He purchased Montreal Alouettes in 1969 and remained active until 1980.

He served as President of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in 1964 and 1971. Helped draft CFL Constitution. His teams appeared in 13 Grey Cup games, winning seven (Ottawa – 4; Montreal – 3). He is a Member of Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
