Francis ‘Frank’ Amyot (deceased) was the only Canadian gold medalist, winning 1,000m single blade event, at 1936 Olympic Games in Germany. Was first Canadian to ever win gold medal in paddling at Olympic Games. Was six times Canadian champion in single blade. Was member of Rideau Aquatic Club and Britannia Boating Club.
