The ‘Golden Boy’ of Canadian football. Came to Ottawa in 1930s and became one of the greatest backs in Canadian football. Played with Rough Riders 1939-41, again 1945-50. Nine times All-Canadian, Jeff Russel Trophy and Canadian Press Award as Canada’s top male athlete in 1941. Won Grey Cup in 1940. Coached football at different levels. Also member of Canadian Forces, Canadian Football, Windsor/Essex County, and Canada’s Sports Halls of Fame.
