Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1961, Mike Nemesvary was on the ground floor of freestyle ski competition. His mastery of Aerials competition began with a gold medal at the 1976 Ontario Winter Games, followed by three Canadian national junior and two senior titles. By 1985, Nemesvary was ranked third in the world with eleven international titles and awards.

An accident while working out on a trampoline in 1985 left him a quadriplegic. In the fall of 2001, Nemesvary finished his Round the World Challenge and dash; a six-month, 40,000 km., 20 country odyssey to raise awareness and funds for enabling technologies which will improve the freedom, independence and acceptance of people with disabilities.
